Big Bags are heavy-duty sacks used across industries and households to carry products such as fertiliser, seeds, animal feed, flour, salt, sugar, milk powder, sand, gravel, mulch, cement, and more.
Recycle your Big Bags
You can now recycle your “big bags” at Bordertown Transfer Station. Simply scan the QR code below to see what bags qualify for the scheme.
About the program
The Council has partnered with Big Bag Recovery, the only Australian Government–accredited product stewardship scheme for plastic bags designed to hold more than 15 kg or 15 litres of contents (including sacks and bulk bags).
The program accepts recyclable bags made from:
- Woven polypropylene (wPP)
- Low-density polyethylene (LDPE)
Council will also accept non-participating bags at a cost of $5 per bag
