Payment of Rates

Quarterly Instalments

Pursuant to Section 181 (2) of the Local Government Act, 1999 Council declares that the rates and charges payable in respect of the financial year ended 30 June 2024 are payable in four equal or approximately equal instalments due on:

  • 1 September 2023
  • 1 December 2023
  • 1 March 2024; and
  • 3 June 2024


Receiving your rates notice electronically will make it easier and more convenient for you to manage your payments, save paper and reduce waste. You'll have your notice accessible on any electronic device (phone, tablet, laptop or desktop) and at your fingertips whenever you are ready to pay your rates; anytime, anywhere, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Methods of Paying

Direct Debit is now available for ratepayers to set up for payments either weekly, fortnightly, monthly , quarterly or annually.  Please contact the Keith or Bordertown offices to speak to the Rates Officer if you would like to arrange a direct debit.

Bpay is the convenient and secure way to make payments. Use your internet/phone banking facilities to Bpay direct from your savings or cheque account. If you don't have the above facilities contact your bank, credit union or building society.

Payments may be made in person or posted to the Bordertown Office or Keith. Please note that card facilities are available at the Bordertown and Keith Offices and can be used for payment over the phone.

In order to avoid fines being imposed for late payment, payment must reach the Council on or before the due date of the notice. No responsibility will be accepted for payments by post, that do not reach the Council Office by the due date on the notice, and fines will be imposed in the normal manner.
