Apprentice or Municipal Employee

Diesel Mechanic


Applications are invited for the above position to be based in Bordertown.  Applications will be considered from, Qualified Diesel Mechanics, Motor mechanics willing to become accredited as Diesel Mechanics, or 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year Diesel or Motor Mechanic apprentices or Trade assistants.


Located in the upper Southeast of South Australia, the ‘Tatiara’ includes the townships of Bordertown, Keith, Mundulla, Wolseley and Padthaway. The Council has a population of 6,600, an area of 6,476 square kms, an annual expenditure budget of approximately $13.5 million and 1,900 kms of roads.  The area is well serviced with 4 doctors, a hospital, a primary and high school and excellent sporting facilities.

Conditions of employment are as per the Local Government Employees Award and Council’s AWU Enterprise Bargaining Agreement. The successful applicant will be responsible to Council’s Senior Mechanic and Operations Supervisor. Pay rates will be available upon request due to the varied range of potential applicants.
